Christina M. Bunn
Ballet, Pilates, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) US, & Traditional Character Dance Instructor
Christina Bunn is a dedicated and experienced dance educator specializing in Classical Ballet, Pilates, Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), and Traditional Character Dance. Born and raised
in Savannah, Georgia, Christina began her formal ballet training in 1960 under the guidance of the late Ruth Goodman and her daughter, Martha Goodman. She was a long-standing company member of Ruth Goodman’s Danse Theatre of Savannah and performed extensively with its Traditional Character Dance Troupe at cultural events and military bases throughout the Southeast.
Throughout her career, Christina has maintained a lifelong commitment to dance education and performance. Most recently she was a member of the esteemed faculty at The Ballet School with Heidi Spivey Carter for 15 years teaching Ballet, PBT, Pilates and leading her own Traditional
Character Dance Performing Troupe.
Christina trained with Momentum Pilates Studio under Carol Daly-Wilder. Her pursuit of excellence in safe and effective dance training also led her to become certified in Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) US. This innovative training method enhances students’ understanding of core stability, weight placement, and alignment, reinforcing Christina’s philosophy of safe dance training and maximizing each dancer’s potential. She has developed her own class combining all these elements, Pilates Fundamentals Focus, designed especially for Dancers.
In addition to her dance career, Christina was a professional sports photographer for many years, covering the national and international figure skating circuit for publications such as Blades on Ice and International Figure Skating. Today, she combines her love for photography and dance through her business, Turning Pointes Lifestyle & Dance Photography, where she captures the artistry and athleticism of performers. Her portfolio can be viewed at www.turningpointes.com.
Currently Christina is sharing the joy of movement with adult dancers through her own program, BUNNHEADS Christina’s Adult Ballet, and couldn’t be more excited to join the staff of Tybee Ballet Theatre!
