Jeri Bettencourt

Company Dancer

Jeri Bettencourt debuted as the Nutcracker Snow Queen in the Tybee Ballet Theater’s first two seasons of Land of the Sweets. It is our pleasure to welcome her back on stage for our third annual performance.

Jeri began her training at the age of four in Savannah with well-known local experts Ebba Thomson and Madeline Walker. She performed for the Savannah Civic Ballet and the Savannah Ballet Guild under directors Stanley Zompakos and Don Cantwell of the Charleston Civic Ballet. Her favorite role was dancing the pas de deux in Benjamin Britton’s “Simple Symphony” at the Savannah Civic Center. Jeri studied with the Atlanta Civic Ballet under legends Robert “Bobby” Barnett, Dorothy Alexander, and Carl Ratcliffe.  She also attended the esteemed Pennsylvania Ballet Footlight Ranch.

Jeri and her husband of 48 years have twin sons and one grandchild. When she is not dancing, she can be found backpacking in the North Georgia Mountains.
